With Covid19/CoronoVirus and all the restrictions in place obviously we can’t go ahead as planned with our regular pig-rearing courses. We’ve decided to do an on-line version of the course.
Normally, the programme for the day would be classroom (4 hours), break for lunch, then outside to meet the pigs. In these strange times we thought we can at least do the classroom element via Webex.
Class for 13th/14th June is booked out. Next course Saturday and Sunday, 11th and 12th July (11 – 1pm)
If you are thinking of keeping pigs, this day will be invaluable. We will teach you everything we’ve learned about keeping free-range outdoor reared organic pigs for over 15 years.
The aim of the course is quite simply to give people confidence in handling pigs and to educate them in successful ways of keeping pigs.
This course is suitable for complete novices or those wishing to expand their knowledge. Course numbers are restricted to a maximum of 8 participants so there is ample opportunity to ask questions. And there most certainly will be the opportunity to get up close and personal with the pigs!
Topics covered will include legislation, fencing, farrowing, feeding, housing, pricing, routes to market and lots more. At the end of the day, you will go home well prepared to keep your own pigs.
If you are a group, on an allotment or smallholding, we can tailor a course to your needs, just give us a call.
Alfie and Margaret are both qualified trainers.
We can, if you like, do a gift voucher…. this could be a great present for the pig lover in your life 🙂
And don’t forget we also do B&B, so if you want to make a weekend of it…. just give us a call.
We can do Course Gift Certificates.
