Pig Rearing

If you are thinking of keeping pigs, this day will be invaluable. We will teach you everything we’ve learned about keeping free-range outdoor reared pigs. Topics covered will include fencing, farrowing, feeding, housing, and lots more.

We are currently looking at the schedule for classes, but I think it will be early to mid-March. There is absolutely no fun going feeding pigs in current weather – it is just so so muddy out there! Will keep you posted when we finalise the date.

We are still working with Bord Bia (in fact have a meeting tomorrow) to get a ‘free range’ standard implemented. However, if it is courses you are enquiring about… Bord Bia don’t approve those.
