Pig Rearing
If you are thinking of keeping pigs, this day will be invaluable. We will teach you everything we’ve learned about keeping free-range outdoor reared pigs. The aim of the course is quite simply to give people confidence in handling pigs and to educate them in successful ways of keeping pigs.
It is suitable for complete novices or those wishing to expand their knowledge. Topics covered will include fencing, farrowing, feeding, housing, and lots more. At the end of the day, you will go home well prepared to keep your own pigs.
Alfie and Margaret are both qualified trainers.
Here is what Dee thought of our course.
We can, if you like, do a gift voucher…. this could be a great present for the pig lover in your life

Hi Pat,
Next course will be on Sunday, 6th November…. you can book it straight through here.
Hi
Am enquiring as to the next proposed pig rearing course you intend to hold in 2012.
Geraldine
Hi Geraldine,
We are currently looking at the schedule for classes, but I think it will be early to mid-March. There is absolutely no fun going feeding pigs in current weather – it is just so so muddy out there! Will keep you posted when we finalise the date.
Thank you for asking!
Margaret
Are you board bia appvoved.
Hi Gerard,
We are still working with Bord Bia (in fact have a meeting tomorrow) to get a ‘free range’ standard implemented. However, if it is courses you are enquiring about… Bord Bia don’t approve those.
